Here is our photographers sneak peek of Savannah’s 9 month pics. She is growing so fast. She started crawling this week. For a couple of weeks she was doing a bit of an army crawl, but just a couple of days ago, she realized she can get where she wants to much easier without rolling around.
In the past week she has learned to clap her hands and give kisses (although neither are consistently by request). However, she does always give her baby doll a kiss when you ask her too. She is definitely recognizing people now. She notices when I’m not in the room, and makes enough noise for me to hear her no matter where I am in the house. She is doing great at sleeping through the night, but she seems to be a bit of a morning person (waking up at 6 am). I’ve tried talking to her about the joys of sleeping in, and how her mommy and daddy really prefer to sleep past 6, but she still likes the 6 o’clock rise and shine time. She loves clicking her tongue, and she gives smiles out to friendly faces a little easier now. My favorite thing she does though is the head tilt, when she is kind of flirting or just meeting someone new, she just tilts her head, as if she’s saying, “Aren’t I too cute?” When she doesn’t like something, she puts her arm on her forehead and cries, it’s a bit dramatic, but incredibly amusing. When she is frustrated (especially when she’s on her tummy and can’t seem to get her way), she puts her head down and cries. The term ‘drama queen’ has come up a few times, but I’m really trying to not label her at such a young age.
Our biggest challenge is definitely the eating. She still won’t eat anything. We have gotten her interested in a few bites of cheese, but that’s about it. Her pediatrician has ran out of suggestions for us, so we will just continue to be persistent, and hope that someday she realizes what fun food can be. Right? I mean, surely she won’t be 5 and still nursing! (Don’t worry, I’m just joking, I wouldn’t let that happen.)
Last week we went back to the doctor, and unfortunately they say that her ears are still not clear. Since she is not having symptoms (no fever, no fussiness, eating and sleeping ok), I decided to continue without antibiotics, and let her body fight it. It’s so hard to believe that she will be turning 1 so soon.

I just want to hug and kiss her — sooo sweeeet. God is so wonderful.
Savannah’s pictures are so precious!! I miss her so much!!
the pics are darling!!
but you know? i am so suprised she will only breastfeed? what do the docs say? are you worried? i mean i know the bonding is awesome but she needs start enjoying food.its so good, let me have a talk with her, i’ll have her eating at paneras in no time at all:)
will she even take a bottle or are you compl. nursing? if not that has got to be so hard on you girl.
i wish i had advice for ya but joshi was a piglet from the beginning:O he loved to nurse but i gave him real food actually way earlier then they reccomend.
just cuz he was so hungry. i mean i told his doc, and i knew i was producing enuf milk cuz when i pumped i would get 6oz!and that was like i fed him on one side and he never ate on the other so i pumped it(at 6 wks)! and thats how i knew. you know they tell you to use both breasts at 1 feeding but Lord when i did that he threw up all over. crazy right? he was a lil piglet, i gotta say it again. his doc told me to just go ahead and start slowly but his words were”this boy’s ready to chow down on the real stuff”. i think i gave him those gerber puffs first then cheerios and then baby food. started at 2 mths. he would actually pick them up and eat them after i put him in his highchair and showed him. i know it sounds crazy but he was never really a baby. so eager to make the next step:(
as long as she is healthy i would enjoy this kristy b-cuz b-4 you know it she will move on and you will miss this.
email me a good time to call ok, i got your message today….
love you all……..
I first introduced food at 6 months, and because of her prematurity it was too early. So we re-introduced it a couple weeks later. We’ve tried everything-baby food, homemade baby food, table food, bread, cheese, puffs etc. My doctor is at a loss as to what to tell us, other than just be patient. Ironically, I did the same thing at her age. So what goes around, comes around! I figure it’s really a small sacrifice in the big picture. I know I will miss nursing, when she’s done, so I truly am enjoying it while it lasts.
She is as gorgeous as ever! I can’t believe how the time has flown!
Cute!
She is too sweet! Elizabeth also started kissing her baby doll, and it is so fun to see.
I wouldn’t worry about the food stuff too much. She’ll start on her own terms. And mama’s milk has everything she needs anyway!
