Poor Savannah! Madilyn just had her first real cold (runny nose and all) a couple of weeks ago. I waited three days then took her to the doctor because she was still coughing pretty bad at night and in the morning. but he just said she had a cold -- nothing you can do other than humidifier and little noses saline ...

Irelyn did that when she was teething. And I know you know the doc won't give you antibiotics. None of the pedi drs I know here are doing antibiotics for ears now. I have tried the similson (sp) and it seemed to ease b4. Good luck and hope she feels better soon. I know you just want to do anything to make them feel better.

hmmm, i know here they do the "wait and see" thing w/ ear infections. my ped. won't even prescribe antibiotics unless the child has beed sick w fever for more than 10 days. its a good and bad thing...
hope she feels better soon i'll be praying for you both. i know how nerve wracking it is when your baby is sick. it's helpless feeling....
p.s. remember when they are teething even though every book says it's not so, they DO get cold like sx and they can have referred pain from the tooth and pull on their ears b-cause of that:)

Oh no! I'm so sorry! I hope she feels better soon! And you definitely don't want it to turn to an ear infection so don't wait too long to get her to the doc. The only good thing about an ear infection is the antibiotics can knock it out super quick.
